Techniques

This is a “Work in Progress” more will be added as techniques are used and the recipes are posted.

Creamed – when you mix sugar and another ingredient like butter together so that it is all mixed together, kind of ends up looking like smooth peanut butter.

Scraping the side of the bowl – use a rubber/silicone spatula to make sure all the ingredients are included in the mixture.

Sifting – passing the dry ingredients through a strainer to separate the ingredients.  This makes this lighter and fluffier.  Most recipes require you to measure after sifting.  I found the best way to do this is to shift right into the measuring cup.
